Cackling Goose

This bird was photographed on Sulphur Springs Rd. in the town of Sauquoit, NY on October 4, 2005.

This photo shows a good comparison of the beak.  In the Cackling Goose the beak is shorter and has a "pushed in" look.  It also curves downward slightly.

These birds were photographed on Sulphur Springs Rd. in the town of Sauquoit, NY on October 3, 2005.

This is the goose that first caught my eye.  He was definitely smaller than the others.  After he landed, he blended in with the flock.

This goose was extremely small and I do not believe it is the same bird as the one in flight.

Notice how small this goose is when compared with the Mallard.  It's head is actually smaller than the Mallard's.
