Digiscoping is the technique of taking photographs with a digital camera
attached to a spotting scope. Here you can see some of the pictures
I have taken using this technique. Unless noted, all of these pictures
were taken with a Nikon CoolPix (995 or 4500) through a Pentax PF80-ED
spotting scope using a William Optics DCL 28mm eyepiece. Two other pieces
of equipment essential for crisp images are a sturdy tripod and a remote
shutter release. Birds are listed in taxonomic order.
Recently, I have purchased a Canon EOS-20D and a Canon
400mm lens. This has now become my primary equipment for photographing
birds.
